Kyra

Meet Kyra, 5½ year old Entire Bitch
A Gorgeous, Affectionate Young Girl Looking for Her Forever Home

Kyra is a sweet, eager to please girl who has made wonderful progress in her current foster home.
She has not had the best start in life after being found as a stray and then fracturing her jaw!
She has now recovered well, is gaining weight nicely and now looks much healthier, with a glossy coat and the waggiest tail you could hope for.
She travels well in the car, loves meeting new people, and has a gentle, affectionate nature.

Kyra is bright, curious and full of character. She adores her food (a little too much at times!) and will quite happily help herself if anything is left within reach, so her new home will need to keep worktops clear and cupboards closed.
She also enjoys collecting “treasures” such as shoes, slippers and the occasional household item to take to her bed — she doesn’t chew them, just likes gathering them up for comfort.

At the vet she is a star, though she did object to having her mouth examined, preferring to wriggle rather than be rude. Her recall has been excellent during her first off‑lead session in an enclosed field, where she enjoyed exploring, sniffing and having a good run. She responds instantly to a firm “No” and comes back quickly when called.

Kyra can be a little barky with other dogs and was quite vocal when another dog arrived at the vet, so some confidence‑building and calm introductions will help her settle. She currently enjoys three meals a day and is allowed gentle mental exercise while she continues recovering. No rough play or toys for now, but she benefits hugely from interesting walks, training games and supervised time outdoors.

When left alone she can occasionally jump at the front door and has managed to lock her foster carers out on a few occasions by catching the latch — an amusing quirk that’s being managed! She is improving all the time and settled well after a recent outing, only moving a pair of slippers instead of her usual treasure haul.

Kyra would thrive in an active home with people who can offer consistent training, structure and plenty of enrichment. She is affectionate, clever, fun and eager to learn — with a little time and love, she will blossom into the most wonderful companion.

If you’re looking for a loving, lively girl with heaps of potential and a heart of gold, Kyra might be the perfect companion.
